The two-step evaluation most prop traders are measured against

Visit site

FTMO runs a paid evaluation — a 1-Step Challenge or a 2-step Evaluation Process — on a simulated account. Hit the profit target while staying inside the daily loss and maximum loss limits and you are offered an FTMO Account, where further simulated trading earns a performance reward: 80% of the profit on the 2-Step, rising to 90% under the Scaling Plan or Premium Programme, and 90% outright on the 1-Step. FTMO describes the whole thing in its own words as trading with simulated capital only; the fee is refunded in full when you pass.

Things to check before you pay

  • FTMO's own copy describes the funded account as a demo account on a simulated platform — you are earning performance-based rewards, not trading the firm's live capital.
  • Fees are quoted in EUR on ftmo.com and vary with the currency and account type you pick.
  • FTMO states $650M+ paid in rewards on its homepage. That is the firm's own figure, not an independently audited number.
  • Withdrawals run by bank wire, Visa Direct / Mastercard Send (up to $20,000), Skrill (up to $3,000) or crypto. FTMO requires a minimum closed profit of $20 for a bank wire and $50 for crypto, to cover transaction costs.
  • The challenge targets and fees below come from ftmo.com's pricing table; the reward split and withdrawal rules come from its payout FAQ, and the instrument list from its instruments FAQ.
Best for

Traders who want the most widely recognised evaluation structure and a large, well-documented rule book — and who are comfortable that the account is simulated.

Figures read from: https://ftmo.com/en/

Figures last checked against the firms' own sites on 2026-09-18. Prop firms change targets, drawdown rules, fees and payout splits often. Treat everything below as a snapshot and confirm current terms on the firm's own page before paying an evaluation fee.

Evaluation fees are usually non-refundable if you fail, and most traders who buy a challenge never reach a payout. Nothing here is a recommendation, and prop firm rules change without notice. Read the firm's own terms before you pay.
